No In-Person Services due to COVID-19 (corona virus) pandemic
I pray and hope this letter finds you in good health. We live in such times that call us as church to take actions to protect ourselves and our community. This corona virus has come to our city, first gradually then it is predicted to suddenly escalate. As pastor of this congregation, I would like to communicate to you how Middletown SDA will react as a church to this looming crisis.
Following the request of the Governor of Kentucky (click to view), and in consultation with the KYTN Conference, other area ministers, our board and elders, and multiple health professionals, we have decided that there will be NO SERVICES in person at Middletown until further notice. However, we will still livestream our regular services each week. So, we invite you if you have access to the internet, to tune into our worship service this coming Sabbath at 11:00 am at https://www.FriendlyChurch.com/Live. You will hear the latest developments of this pandemic, participate in our inspiring service and also stay connected with our fellow brothers and sisters.
Please stay tuned for more information on future services.
In his love, Jesus forewarned us that this type of situations will happen before His second coming not as the end but rather as a sign of the end (Matthew 24:7-8). He also promised us peace (John 14:27), not as the world promises peace: it is an inner peace that comes from an understanding that we have a Deliverer who is able to keep us and protect and deliver us. (Dan 3:17)
Based on that understanding and trust in a God who is bigger than our situation we must encourage one another and not let fear drive our actions. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”(2 Timothy 1:7)
For prayer and encouragement, please don’t hesitate to call your parish elder or myself. We are here to serve you.
I encourage you to stay up-to-date about the virus and proper prevention measures by visiting: www.Kycovid19.ky.gov.
May God bless you and keep you healthy!
