10 Days Upper Room Prayer Experience
The most important 10 days in the history of Christianity can also be the most important 10 days of your Christian journey:
Here is what happened the day after Jesus went up to heaven:
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey. 13 And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. (Acts 1:12-14 NKJV)
We call this event in the life of the early church, the Upper Room experience. Ten days they will never forget. Ten days that transformed their life. Ten days that shaped their ministry. Ten days that, if they missed this experience, I would not stand here as a Christian pastor writing this message to you. Today, I preached the sermon based on the above-quoted paragraph from the book of Acts and I invited the audience to enter their personal upper room. This time I am inviting you personally to enter into this personal experience yourself. This could be the most important ten days of your own Christian journey.
We begin these ten days in our personal upper room tomorrow February 6, 2022, and will end it on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 7:00 pm with a special prayer service at church to which you are all invited. I am including the “Ten Days In Your Personal Upper Room Guide” I shared with the audience this morning. This will guide you through daily reflection and devotion.
