Men's Ministry

Why Joshua’s Men?

The greatest want of the world is the want of men - men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.

EGW “Education” p. 57

Joshua’s Men is designed to provide training to the current and potential leaders of the local church. It focusses on four important areas:

  1. Character Development
  2. Spiritual Development
  3. Learning leadership principles and skills
  4. Developing group unity and accountability

The goals of Joshua’s Men are:

  1. To have participants develop a clear understanding of and appreciation for sound leadership
  2. To have participants develop their full potential leadership
  3. To have graduates use their learned skills in their families, in the various ministries of the church, and in their work places
  4. To encourage spiritual growth
  5. To enhance a sense of community within the church
  6. To prepare future leaders
  7. To strengthen the ministry as a whole

Joshua’s Men is a one-year program that normally begins in January. It includes a variety of activities, designed to promote specific learning and development.  Activities include:

  1. Group meetings – once a month for discussion and connection
  2. Meals & Refreshments – for fellowship and friendship
  3. Accountability – to keep each other sharp and on track
  4. Assignments – to learn and implement new skills
  5. Prayer partners – weekly praying with a praying partner
  6. Fellowship Events – to connect with each other’s families
  7. One-on-one meeting – between the facilitator and each participant

Given the nature of the training, seating is limited.  Please contact pastor Marius by December 30, 2017 to secure a seat and obtain the materials needed in time.  May God bless the Middletown Men.
